STAND UP Conference

On September 21st 2021, I went to a great diversity and inclusion conference called STAND UP. The event was hosted at Lytchett Minster School, Poole, DORSET and we had to meet at 6.30am for our coach down to it from Buckinghamshire.

It was attended by secondary schools & sixth forms across the UK, to explore racial inequality and learn from those affected by it. Speakers shared their stories and how they have taked action to build a fairer future. They covered:

  • Unboxing Racial Bias & Disparity
  • Celebrating Identity & Inclusivity
  • Challenging Inequality & Alienation

The events of 2020 and the global prominence of the Black Lives Matter movement have brought racial inequality to the centre stage. Now is an unprecedented time to address this issue in our schools and equip our students to challenge injustice and champion the human rights of all.

You can read more about the speakers on their website.
