My school ordered a pencil box for each and every student. Making 35 in one go required a rethink on how to do this consistently and efficiently!
These are the stages I went through.
Making the stencil for the logo
Hand carving the pencil boxes
Each name was sketched by hand using a pencil first, then etched with a Dremel.
Spraying the pencil boxes
Since the pencil boxes are made of a soft wood, they are porous. This would make them absorb stains and mark easily. By coating them in a clear varnish they will stay looking good for longer.
The finished handcrafted pencil boxes
Here are the finished boxes stacked Jenga style for a fun way to display them.
